Frequently asked
＋Do I need to bring my own firearm?
For the in-person class, yes — bring a handgun of at least .22 caliber, a holster, and at least 50 rounds of ammunition. If you don't have one, contact me before class and I'll help you arrange a loaner.
＋Is the online course accepted by Texas DPS?
Yes. Online LTC courses are approved by Texas DPS for the classroom portion. You'll still need to complete a live range qualification in person, which we can schedule together.
＋How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 21 to apply for a Texas LTC, or 18 if you're an active-duty or honorably discharged member of the U.S. armed forces.
＋How long does it take to get my license after class?
After you finish the class, you submit your application to DPS. Processing typically takes 60 days but can vary.
